Emerging Europe Talks Planet — sustainable fashion with Magdalena Płonka

The volume of apparel and footwear being produced globally was expected to have grown by 81 per cent to 102 million tons in 2020, according to report published by the Global Fashion Agenda in Copenhagen and the Boston Consulting Group in 2019.

But is the fashion industry becoming more sustainable? What is the difference between fast and slow fashion? Are consumers aware of the trends? And how do young designers see their future in the industry?

Dr Magdalena Płonka, director of collaborative educational initiatives and research and a corporate social responsibility lecturer at the International School of Costume and Fashion Design (MSKPU) in Warsaw, speaks with Andrew Wrobel about creativity and entrepreneurship in the fashion industry in emerging Europe.

Unlike many news and information platforms, Emerging Europe is free to read, and always will be. There is no paywall here. We are independent, not affiliated with nor representing any political party or business organisation. We want the very best for emerging Europe, nothing more, nothing less. Your support will help us continue to spread the word about this amazing region.
