The European Health & Fitness market continues to grow at a steady rate of approximately 4 percent, with revenues of over EUR 27 billion. According to the latest report published by Deloitte and EuropeActive, total gym membership also rose in 2018, to 62.2 million. The Romanian health & fitness market is also ascending, especially due to the healthy lifestyle trend that has become an increasingly influential factor when it comes to choosing leisure time activities.

World Class, the leading health & fitness network in Romania, has turned all actions towards a strong social mission aiming to inspire, motivate and educate more Romanians to be more active more often. Since the #BeHealthy Movement was launched in 2018 by World Class, at the #BeHealthy Festival, the network has registered a boost in health & fitness services sales, now reaching 64,000 active members, more than 7 percent in terms of market share.

According to a recent market survey conducted by Daedalus Online and A.T. Kearney, the most important factor for Romanian customers when deciding which fitness club to attend is its proximity to their home or the workplace. That is why all World Class clubs are strategically located close to residential and business parks, as well as popular high-traffic commercial areas.

“World Class’s achievements in the first half of 2019 are in line with our plans for this year and ensure long-term growth and sustainability supported by being a social mission-driven company. We’ve grown our Total Revenue by 31 percent versus last year, driven by new club openings and strong development of Corporate memberships and offering smart monthly payment solutions. We have also had strong growth in our Personal Training revenue, of over 30 percent versus last year. We’ve reached 64,000 active World Class members, 36 active health & fitness clubs, with two more to be opened by the end of the year and three clubs planned to open in 2020, having the largest network of pools, in 21 strategically chosen locations across Romania, and we exceeded 1.5 million participants in our group fitness classes. We reached a turnover of EUR 28.5 million in 2018 and we estimate it to reach 38 million by the end of this year. Our growth figures only show that more and more people are joining our Movement and enjoying the advantages of choosing a new, healthier lifestyle inspired by World Class,” said World Class CEO Kent Orrgren.

The first half of 2019 closed with record results for World Class and positive trends for all services. Compared to the first half of 2018, the network’s total sales increased by 31 percent, with the highest growth registered by Corporate sales, 40 percent, due to the network’s attractive and flexible corporate wellness packages.Read more aboutAdrian Apostu (Dino Parc Râșnov): 2 million visitors represent a milestone that makes us both happy and responsible read more
