Żabka Polska, the biggest convenience store chain in Poland and across Central and Eastern Europe, has teamed up with Microsoft and its 10 partners – seven of which are Polish – to create what it is calling the shop of the future.

Making use of cutting-edge technology, the shops will offer price analysis systems, digital signage, smart-shelves, and self-service check-outs using AI based, video verification.

“This is a very special moment for us – the presentation of this idea coincides with the 20th anniversary of Żabka’s presence on the Polish market, where it has found resounding success and  has become an attractive partner for global leaders,” said Tomasz Suchański, CEO of Żabka Polska.

“We are proud of being able to support Żabka on its journey into the future,” added Michel van der Bel, vice president of Microsoft for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. “We are also proud to see how Microsoft technologies and partner solutions provided adequate response to customer expectations and model the shopping experience of tomorrow.

Żabka Polska currently boasts a network of 5,300 points of sale operated by more than 3,500 franchisees serving more than two million customers daily.
