Coca-Cola Hellenic Poland (Coca-Cola HBC) has announced plans to invest over half a billion zloty (approximately 117 million euro) in Poland by 2020.
The company’s latest investment is a 12 million-zloty (2.81 million-euro) logistics centre at a production plant in Staniątki near Niepołomice, which opened on April 16 2019. The new storage facility provides the company with an area of 4,700 square metres and is the next stage of the company’s development in the Małopolska region.
“Poland is one of the key markets of the Coca-Cola Hellenic Group, one of the largest bottlers of the Coca-Cola Company in the world. From the beginning of our activity, we have constantly invested in Poland in our production plants, logistics and warehousing infrastructure as well as numerous elements supporting the entire supply chain and market,” Jaak Mikkel, president of the management board of Coca-Cola Hellenic Poland, announced at the opening.
Between 2012 and 2016, Coca-Cola HBC invested over 435 million zloty (over 100 million euros) and according to Mr Mikkel, the group will invest “over half a billion zloty between 2017-2020, including our Małopolska plant”.
For Coca-Cola HBC, the expansion and investment in the region owes a lot to the good long-term cooperation between the company and local government authorities in Małopolska.
“This is another example of good and long-term cooperation between our plant and the local government authorities of the commune and region. We are not only an important employer and business partner, but above all, we have become part of the local community. We constantly support the inhabitants of the region, creating over 300 jobs and cooperating with local suppliers. We offer programmes that support young people professionally, we cooperate with academic centres by participating in the education of scientific and technical staff, and we also care about the environment, producing responsibly. We are from here and have been proving this in our activity for over a quarter of a century,” explained Krzysztof Put, director of the Coca-Cola HBC Poland production plant in Staniątki.
