Emerging Europe Talks Peace — The Covid pandemic’s impact on democracy, with Anamaria Dutceac Segesten

In December last year, concepts such as lockdowns, quarantine, mask mandates, hand sanitisers and social distancing were unknown to most of us.

Over the last twelve months, however, they have become some of the most frequently used phrases across the globe. The Covid-19 pandemic has changed our plans, goals, routines, habits and has literally distanced us from other people. In the meantime, international organisations have called for a great reset, or to build back better, and we have started talking about the new normal.

In the final episode of the Emerging Europe Talks series for 2020, Andrew Wrobel speaks with Anamaria Dutceac Segesten, an associate professor at the Department of Strategic Communications at Lund University, and an expert in political communication, social media, European politics and democracy, about the changes to our social, economic and political lives that the pandemic has brought about.
