Eurostat: Estonia has CEE’s highest net wages

Annual net wages in the emerging Europe states which are members of the European Union remain well below the bloc’s average of 24,700 euros.

According to data from Eurostat, Estonia had by far the highest wages in the region in 2018, at 18,543 euros. Slovenia was ranked second with 12,960 euros, while the Czech Republic came in third with an average wage of 11,266 euros.

Annual wages in Poland were recorded at an average of 9,512 euros, followed by Slovakia (9,237 euros), Croatia (9,067 euros), Lithuania (8,662 euros), Hungary (8,630 euros) and Latvia (8,508 euros), with Romania (5,875 euros) and Bulgaria (5,513 euros) lagging way behind at the bottom of the EU ranking.
