Carrow Road will be a happy hunting ground for other teams, says Perry Groves, who believes Norwich are destined for the drop.

The Canaries’ survival bid suffered a hammer blow as they were thumped 5-0 at home to Arsenal on Boxing Day.

Arsenal are in good form but Groves feels much of the defeat was self-inflicted by Norwich, saying Dean Smith’s men lacked the fight to give the Gunners a game.

Groves added that he believes Norwich are lacking the determination, quality and belief to avoid relegation from the top flight, adding that other teams will see a trip to their ground as an easy day out.

He said on talkSPORT after the match: “Right from when Bukayo Saka scored in the sixth minute, it wasn’t in any doubt whatsoever. Arsenal had too much quality, especially in the forward areas.

“I’m looking at the Norwich team, they’re dejected, their heads are down, hands on hips. I don’t think they really believe that they can get themselves out of this situation.

The Norwich supporters may not believe eitherGetty

“There was a lack of fight in the last 15-20 minutes and you could hear the Norwich fans weren’t particularly impressed. There were a few boos at half time and at the end of the game as well.

“There’s just a lack of quality from this group of Norwich players. I can’t see where their goals are coming from.

“They’re in a lot of trouble, Norwich. I can’t see the fight that they need off the ball. They’ve got to make it difficult for teams.

“Dean Smith was saying in his programme notes he wanted to make it difficult for teams coming to Carrow Road, I think teams will enjoy coming to Carrow Road.”
