AMG Athletes is a sports academy dedicated to helping athletes worldwide get elite level training. The academy is founded by Abdelrahman Elghadban, a professional basketball player with experience in top level basketball such as LIGA ACB and the NBA G league.

AMG Athletes held the first ever 1vs1 basketball tournament in Egypt featuring the best players in the country such as: Mido Taha the FIBA 3X3 legend, Romeh Sameh, Reem Moussa the African Champion and Farida Mossad.

All the players competed in a knockout tournament where the winners keep competing and the losers get knocked out of the tournament.

The tournament was held on the 27th of November 2022.

Abdelrahman Elghadban is now on track to make a deal with FIBA and the Egyptian Federation to legalize the AMG 1X1 Tournament Trademark Logo and the official rules.

Elghadban, the 28 year old was asked in an interview about the idea and goal behind the tournament;

“The whole idea behind the tournament was to create a chance for young or amateur players to compete against the top players in the country. “ Abdelrahman added

“ I am planning for the next tournament to be way bigger and way better. The next tournament is set to start next summer in 2023. We have created a wave of innovative ideas and we plan to ride that way to the finish line. The sky is the limit for AMG Athletes and the goals we hope to achieve in the near future”

The structure of the tournament was unique and never been done before. The players were divided into 3 groups or categories:

AMG Elite: The best of the Egyptian National Team

AMG Player Invitationals: Up and coming talent from the Egyptian Super League

AMG 1X1 Tournament participants: Anyone who wanted to compete in the tournament because it was open for everyone with any basketball experience.

All players competed against one another in a knockout tournament where winner takes all. The winners of the 2022 AMG 1X1 Tournament were Mido Taha and Farida Mossad.

We are looking forward to the next tournament! We share our support and excitement with Abdelrahman and AMG Athletes!
