Antonio Conte has opened the door for a Christian Eriksen to return to Tottenham following the Dane’s announcement that he plans to return to football after suffering a cardiac arrest.
Spurs boss Conte won Serie A alongside Eriksen at Inter Milan last season and has now suggested that the midfielder could return to Tottenham, where he played between 2013 and 2020.

Off the back of winning the Italian title with Inter, Eriksen led Denmark at Euro 2020 but shockingly suffered an on-pitch cardiac arrest during his country’s opener against Finland on June 12.
Eriksen received life-saving treatment from paramedics on the pitch in Copenhagen and hasn’t played football since.
The 29-year-old had ICD (implantable cardioverter defibrillator) fitted to regulate his heartbeat following the scare, which unfortunately resulted in the cancellation of his contract with Inter.
Italy’s National Olympic Committee rules state that footballers are not allowed to play with an ICD, ending Eriksen’s career in the country.

That doesn’t rule him out of playing in other countries though, such as England, where he starred for Spurs during a seven-year stint.
Eriksen recently stated he dreams of playing for Denmark at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, and his former manager has offered some motivation.
Conte, who managed Eriksen at Inter last season, has already made the switch to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and was asked if the Dane could make the same move.

“It was great to see him on the pitch, to see that he is kicking the ball,” Conte said regarding footage of Eriksen training with Swiss club Chiasso.
“What happened this summer was not good, I was scared, and now to see him again ready to play football is great news.
“I think for Christian the door is always open.”
Eriksen managed 226 Premier League appearances for Spurs after signing from Ajax in 2013, scoring 51 goals and registering 62 assists.
