Rumour has it Manchester City star Jack Grealish has posters of ex-Liverpool man Philippe Coutinho on his wall.

We have no idea if that’s true but old comments from Grealish show he has huge respect for the Brazilian.

Now it could be Coutinho looking up to Grealish

The England star revealed in the summer that he regularly watches YouTube compilations of the Barcelona man.

Grealish told Peter Crouch: “One of my favourites to watch is Coutinho, because he always has that one, you know, where he goes left and drops like a little shimmy, which is what I like doing myself.

“All them YouTube videos, they’ve always got c**p music on so I always put a song that I like in this one [phone] and on my other phone I put the video on. Coldplay, Viva la Vida and Coutinho!”

Both are extremely gifted on the ball but their careers have gone in opposite directions in recent years.

Coutinho was expected to be Barca’s future but hasn’t settled and has lost his place in the Brazil national teamGetty Meanwhile, Grealish looks set to become a Premier League champion for Man City, who paid £100million for him in the summer

Coutinho’s career has fallen off a cliff since completing a big-money move to Barca from Liverpool.

While all that was going on, Grealish was playing in the Championship for Aston Villa but played a huge role in getting them back to the Premier League in 2019, starred for England at Euro 2020 and joined Manchester City in a record top flight deal in the summer.

It was felt Emi Buendia was the replacement for Grealish but the Argentine has yet to fully establish himself at Villa Park.

There are reports linking Coutinho with a loan move to Villa, which would see him reunite with former Liverpool teammate Steven Gerrard. However, Gerrard has poured cold water on those reports.

But if that deal happens, there will be huge expectations for Coutinho to fill the hole of a player who looks up to him so much.
