There’s not a lot to cheer about for Manchester United fans right now, and the mood was perfectly encapsulated by Red Devils supporter Kenny in an impassioned call on talkSPORT.

The 13-time Premier League winners suffered a 1-0 defeat at home to Wolves in what was a dire showing by Ralf Rangnick’s men.

It’s the German’s first defeat in six games since taking charge of the club at the end of November.

However, his side has hardly set the Premier League alight and there are genuine concerns about United’s ability to finish in the top four and what the future holds for them.

Defender Luke Shaw even suggested that Man United were lacking in motivation during the match, with the Red Devils star perhaps being a little too honest when opening up over the team’s struggles after the match.

And United supporter Kenny, speaking to talkSPORT hosts Jim White and Simon Jordan, sent a message to the club he loves that will no doubt have fellow fans around the world firmly nodding their heads in agreement.

The fuming fan said: “I hope some of the players hear this… this bunch of United players continually deflect the blame onto manager after manager, anybody but themselves – they’re a disgrace.

Shaw gave a frank assessment of Man United’s performance, and is now facing a backlashGetty

“And for any professional player to openly admit he lacks motivation?! That’s pathetic! Absolutely unacceptable.

“My wife works 12 hour shifts five days a week in social care, she risks her health in the pandemic to help the elderly, and Luke Shaw lacks motivation?

“I could just imagine the most of us saying to our bosses, ‘I’ll try a bit harder next week, I’m just lacking a bit of motivation’.

“There is no accountability for these pampered, overpaid, underworked individuals. These players just show how out of touch with reality they are. They need a reality check. I’ve often heard Simon saying ‘a rocket up the proverbial’ – how true!

“Their [the players’] apathy has even transferred to the terraces, the mediocrity now seems acceptable.

Rangnick is struggling to get a tune out of the players and fans are worriedAFP

“Get off social media, stop the excuses and the shallow, hollow apologies – you’re fooling no one.

“Do the job you’re paid to do and have a good look in the mirror. Too many of them are looking about and blaming anyone else.

“The club needs a complete restart. Wasn’t Woodward supposed to be going in January?

“This team needs to be broken up, get the deadwood and the bad apples out the door along with the lack of motivation and attitude.

“I’ll drive them to the airport myself!

Kenny continued: “I’m furious!

“It may be like comparing apples and oranges when comparing society, but when you see what some people are going through in the pandemic and here you’ve got a young, healthy individual who’ll never need any more money in his lifetime and he lacks motivation to do what most folk would give their right arm to do!

“They all need to look in the mirror, seriously.”
