Poznan-based Fibaro, which specialises in smart homes, has been bought by the Nice Group, which has its headquarters in Italy and manufactures facilities in 12 countries across the world. The Nice Group, which makes home automation and home security solutions, bought Fibaro for 250 million zloty.

“This is a huge opportunity for us to develop our smart home system and IoT solutions we are developing in Poznan and Zielona Gory even further,” said Maciej Fidler, CEO of Fibaro Group.

“We chose Nice Group’s offer as we wanted an investor who would not only develop the Fibaro brand further but would also secure funding for further testing as well as benefiting from our advanced technical know-how,” adds Mr Fidler.

Fibaro is one of the most renowned Polish tech companies specialising in smart homes, and over the past few years has expanded its reach with its products now being available in over 100 markets worldwide.

In 2017, Apple started selling Fibaro products in its shops. The American company was particularly keen on Fibaro’s Flood Sensor, a smart wireless device that works with the HomeKit platform, which notifies/warns users of the possibility of floods at their homes.
