PayPoint, the leading operator in Romania of cash payments and electronic charging through retail points, announces the launch of the PayPoint mobile application, thus taking an important step towards the updated needs of customers. The card payment solution through the PayPoint application is provided by Alpha Bank Romania in partnership with Europayment Services (EuPlătesc.ro).

The mobile application was developed in partnership with Zitec, leader on the IT & Digital Marketing market in Romania, specialized in digital transformation solutions and services.

The PayPoint application allows customers to pay directly from their phone bills for utilities, such as water, gas or electricity, to recharge their credit for PrePay cards, but also to make online payment, recurrent or not, of other types of subscriptions for various services . Along the way, new providers will be available in the application, as well as other new services.

At the same time, the new application will allow users to set a reminder notification for the payment of monthly bills, the possibility to pay an invoice for another person and display the updated balance for a number of public utilities providers, as well as credit recharge for limitless prepaid phone cards. All operations might be instantly proceeded or might be saved for further payment, individually or all at once.Read more aboutAlpha Bank Romania announces financial results for the first nine months of the year read more

The users of the application will have several methods to register in the application the information necessary for the payment: scanning the bar code, entering the customer code or uploading the respective invoice in PDF format. Payment can be made using a card saved in the application or by introducing a new valid credit card each time when an online payment is initialized.

The UX (user experience) component of the application is based upon customers’ preferences in digital services universum and therefore has a friendly, intuitive and easy to use interface.

The PayPoint application is available for free with full access for users to all the functionalities offered and can be downloaded on smartphones running Android or iOS operating systems, from the Google Play or App Store.

“PayPoint is the market leader in terms of collecting cash payments, through its network of over19,000 partners, with national coverage. After a presence of more than 12 years on the Romanian market, we considered that time had come to reach a new category of consumers, namely those who prefer the convenience of online payments, especially nowadays, when we ar all concern about sanitary safety and physical distancing. The PayPoint mobile application comes with a simple, fast and secure experience for all types of services and transactions available and allows customers to make payments to a wide range of utilities and service providers in a very flexible way, from a single friendly place, just by clicking their mobile phones. We aim to reduce the time spent by each user for these types of operations, by integrating smart functionalities, while respecting all security standards “, said Lewis Alcraft, Managing Director PayPoint Romania.

“We are happy to support the projects of our partners and we are confident that through this new payment solution we meet the needs of consumers and partner companies, with online trading methods, easy to implement and very secure, adapted to security standards applicable to card payments. The development of this payment solution, in which we collaborated together with EUROPAYMENT SERVICES (EuPlatesc.ro), represents another step forward in our process of expansion, but also of continuing the strategy of consolidating the digital solutions requested by the local market.”, stated Viorel Vasile, Director of the Alpha Bank Romania Cards Unit.

“We have developed the new mobile application for PayPoint to provide its users with a smart alternative to offline services, especially in the context of the pandemic. The PayPoint application benefited from an integrated Zitec brand approach, which involved the development of the mobile application, the user experience component and the promotion campaign designed by the Digital Marketing division. The results of the Digital Marketing division in recent years, our technical background and investments in the development of the Mobile division within the company, are a real advantage for our customers in their digital transformation efforts, Zitec becoming a one-stop solution provider for such solutions.”, said Alexandru Lăpușan, CEO & Founding Partner of Zitec.
