The fight against coronavirus continues, with companies and individuals who help by donating money, products and services to those in frontline. According to an interview Romanian tennis player superstar Simona Halep gave DigiSport, the athlete donated EUR 30,000 to help Romania’s efforts against COVID-19.

“It’s true, and this is the sum, EUR 30,000. I don’t watch the news, but I was at home with my boyfriend Toni, and we saw how hard it was for everyone. We both decided to donate […] No matter the amount, I have to donate. It came from the heart. I don’t like to officially talk about the donation. The doctors and the Romanians need help,” Simona Halep explained it in the TV show.

The Romanian tennis player also mentioned that she would like to write a book about her performance in tennis, if the fans consider it worthy.

Simona Halep picked up the 20th WTA singles title of her career with victory over Elena Rybakina in the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships final on February 2020. During her career, Simona Halep has won 20 WTA tournaments (six in 2013, two in 2014, three in 2015, three in 2016, one in 2017, three in 2018, one in 2019 and one in 2020), the most important being her two Grand Slam titles – 2018 Roland Garros and 2019 Wimbledon – and the Premier Mandatory tournaments at Indian Wells and Madrid. More information about the Romanian tennis player can be found on her official website.
