A commitment to shaping customer behaviour towards more sustainable lifestyles makes the Polish giant an ideal partner for the Future of Emerging Europe programme.

Żabka, the largest and greenest chain of convenience stores in Central and Eastern Europe, with 7,500 manned and unmanned facilities, has become a strategic partner of the Future of Emerging Europe programme.

“At Żabka we believe that green and sustainable living is possible for all of us, every day,” says Anna Grabowska, Vice-President of the Żabka Management Board for Consumer Strategies and Chief Commercial Officer.

“With the Future of Emerging Europe programme, we would like to share our experience and inspire on how to promote a sustainable lifestyle, promote equal opportunities, implement best governance practices and become the greenest convenience chain in the region.”

Żabka has developed its business model by focusing on the growth of the convenience format and on technological advances, while simultaneously integrating those activities with the responsibility of Żabka brand.

It also manages the leading dietary catering brand Maczfit and operates the biggest e-commerce platform for catering diets – Dietly.

On average, nearly 2.5 million people visit their local Żabka stores each day and over four million people use its żappka digital app.

An ideal partner

“We’re proud to have Żabka join us as a strategic partner of the Future of Emerging Europe programme,” says Emiliano Ramos, a founder of Emerging Europe.

“Its dynamic growth was intensified during the pandemic, with almost 1,500 facilities opened since January 2020, and it has been supporting pandemic-related programmes to alleviate its effects on society.

“This, alongside its commitment in shaping customer behaviour towards more sustainable lifestyles makes them an ideal partner for our programme.”

Almost 50 organisations and individuals from across Central, Eastern, South-Eastern Europe and the Caucasus have been nominated for the fourth edition of the Emerging Europe Awards programme.

The Future of Emerging Europe Summit and Awards, whose 2021 theme is Towards a resilient and sustainable emerging Europe, will take place in Brussels and online on September 15.

The summit will focus on five areas: providing fair, equal, quality health care across emerging Europe; lifestyles for a greener and more sustainable emerging Europe redefining and strengthening a post-growth emerging Europe economy; inspiring unity and new transformational leadership in emerging Europe, and building a forward-looking, secure and democratic emerging Europe.

For the first time since the programme was launched in 2018, the winners of the awards will be chosen by the public.

Votes can be cast here until August 31. You can also register for the Emerging Europe Summit and Awards event on September 15, and request to attend in person, here.

Unlike many news and information platforms, Emerging Europe is free to read, and always will be. There is no paywall here. We are independent, not affiliated with nor representing any political party or business organisation. We want the very best for emerging Europe, nothing more, nothing less.
