Chelsea have reportedly recalled Kenedy from his loan at Flamengo with the club currently facing an injury crisis in the full-back positions.

The 25-year-old has made just 15 Premier League appearances for the Blues, with his last coming in 2016.

He has also had spells on loan at Watford, Newcastle, Getafe and Granada but is now heading back to Stamford Bridge, Goal Brazil report.

The report adds that Flamengo ‘fought’ to keep Kenedy at the club but boss Thomas Tuchel wanted to bring him back to be part of the squad.

Chelsea currently have just two fully fit full-backs in Marcos Alonso and Cesar Azpilicueta.

Ben Chilwell is out for the season after undergoing knee surgery, while on the opposite flank Reece James has joined him on the sidelines for two months with a hamstring tear.

In recent matches, Hakim Ziyech, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Christian Pulisic have all filled in as wing-backs.

Kenedy has spent several seasons away from Chelsea on loan

Chelsea have also been unsuccessful in their efforts to recall Emerson Palmieri from his Lyon loan, with the Ligue 1 club reluctant to let their player go mid-season.

Kenedy joined Chelsea for £6million in 2015 but has failed to establish himself as first-team regular.

He has impressed in 10 appearances for Flamengo, who won the Brazilian title last season.

It remains to be seen whether he has a role to play in Thomas Tuchel’s squad or whether he will be shipped out for a sixth loan.

Chelsea have also been linked with Lucas Digne, but he is poised to join Aston Villa from Everton in a £25m deal.
