E-Distribuţie Banat, the electricity distribution operator part of the Enel Group, will perform the works of connection to the electricity grid of the military field hospital in Timișoara, thus supporting the efforts of medical teams in the fight against COVID- 19.

The connection project included the modernization of an existing substation with unified equipment that will be integrated to the Telecontrol center, as well as the installation of a new medium-low voltage transformer, dedicated to powering the field hospital, switches, distribution boxes and all necessary equipment for supplying from the low voltage grid. The value of the equipment and works performed by E-Distribuţie Banat, over EUR 50,000, is being supported by the company.

Similar projects were carried out in the last month by E-Distribuţie Muntenia, at the military field hospital near Bucharest, and by E-Distribuţie Dobrogea, at the military field hospital in Constanța. Therefore, E-Distribuție has so far donated equipment and works amounting over EUR 110.000 in order to support those who fight in the first line with COVID-19.

Enel companies in Romania have implemented a series of measures designed to help reduce the spread of COVID-19, out of concern for the communities it serves, for customers and employees. Therefore, all activities involving direct contact with the public have been suspended, with customers having alternative communication channels.

Also, Enel Romania has activated the long-term smart working procedure for all the activities of its employees for which it is applicable.Read more aboutArctic donates appliances worth RON 100,000 to Grigore Alexandrescu Emergency Clinical Hospital for Children read more

The company has also prepared a continuity plan, in order to ensure the safety in the supply of electric energy in the areas that could be declared “red zones” by the authorities. In this respect, E- Distribuție companies continue to carry out technical and operational activities to ensure the continuity of electricity distribution in secure conditions, especially for critical institutions such as hospitals and quarantine centers.

Given the current context, when each of us can take several preventative measures to maintain everyone’s health, transparency is also important, to ensure that we can all be safe. Therefore, according to the information from the health authorities, we ask the clients to announce any contamination suspicions to the teams that are called for unscheduled interventions, so that they can take protective measures. E-Distribuţie teams, in turn, are trained to take all the necessary measures and are equipped with safety equipment (mask, glasses, gloves).
