It’s FA Cup third round weekend and Everton they face a tricky test against Hull City.

It hasn’t been the best of seasons for the Toffees so far with Rafa Benitez’s side sitting in 15th in the Premier League.

Hull City welcome Everton to east Yorkshire on Saturday evening

They’ll be hoping that a victory over the Championship side can kickstart their season.

For Hull, it’s been a difficult campaign too after securing promotion from League One last term and with the club sitting in 19th spot, there’s plenty of work to do if they’re to avoid the drop.

A cup clash could offer valuable respite for the Yorkshire side.

Hull v Everton: Team news

Grant McCann is expected to name a strong side for the clash with the Toffees but will be without Mallik Wilks, Josh Magennis and Callum Elder through injury.

For Everton, Benitez is due to be without Richarlison, Yerry Mina and Andros Townsend, while Jarrad Branthwaite and Fabian Delph are doubts.

He could hand debuts to Vitaliy Myolenko and Nathan Patterson who signed this week.

Hull v Everton: What’s been said?

Grant McCann: “We see it as an opportunity to try and get through to the next round.

“We understand that they are littered with quality all the way through their team but we’re at home and expecting a big following. We want to go and give it a go and see if we can get ourselves into the next round.”

Rafa Benitez: “To win any trophy is massive, it’s not easy.

“If you’re in a top side, you have more chances, it’s really important to appreciate how difficult it is.

“Hopefully, what I said before, we can do a good run.”
