Schneider Electric equips Athenee Palace Hilton Hotel with new EcoStruxure Building Management solutions for comfort and safety

Schneider Electric, leader in digital transformation of energy management and automation, contributed to the modernization and equipment of the Athenee Palace Hilton hotel in Bucharest with its latest solutions for the comfort and safety of guests.

Owned by the group with 25 years of experience in the hotel industry, Ana Hotels (as majority shareholder) Athenee Palace Hilton is one of the iconic hotels of Bucharest and is undergoing an extensive process of renovation and modernization.

Following the first stage of this process, the Art Deco building, which opened its doors for the first time more than a century ago, now has 132 rooms completely renovated in its “New Wing”, all modernized and equipped with Schneider Electric solutions. The Schneider Electric room thermostats, KNX Multitouch Pro, fit harmoniously into the new elegant and stylish atmosphere of the hotel.

Adjusting the comfort temperature, viewing the room occupancy, “Do not disturb” and “Clean” messages, flood alerts as well as the energy efficiency loop with heating/cooling stop, whenever a window is open in the room, are just some of the functions which can be controlled and viewed on the KNX Multitouch Pro thermostat.Read more aboutRomanian ddroidd named in Top 100 UK Tech Start-Ups read more

All the technical systems of the hotel are integrated with the digital building management platform from Schneider Electric, which is interconnected with the hotel management software of the Hilton chain, ONQ. Thus, as soon as a room is booked, it automatically switches to comfort mode, so when the guest enters the room, the temperature is optimal and all safety functions are activated.

Schneider Electric’s building management software – EcoStruxure Building Operation – has become the “brain” of all the facilities of the hotel, providing monitoring, interactive control and optimization of technical functions: heating, cooling, ventilation, lighting, water supply, metering.

Using regulation algorithms, designed to streamline energy efficiency and ensure comfort, the EcoStruxure management system is an open, IoT-based platform that integrates and manages connectable equipment, databases, mobile applications and cloud services, regardless of provider.

“The renovation and technological upgrade project of the Athenee Palace Hilton Hotel is important for us not only due to the contribution we were able to have to the modernization of this building, a landmark for Bucharest residents and tourists visiting our country, but also because it was implemented together with a great renovation effort, so that we could create a complete, automated and perfectly aesthetically integrated digital ecosystem within a century old building”, explains Monica Bucurescu, Building Management Systems Sales Manager. “Hotel guests will notice not only the great aesthetics of the new rooms, but also the fact that an authentic Art Deco hotel can be transformed into a smart building, capitalizing on the latest technologies.”

“We are excited about everything we can offer now in terms of customer experience. Together with Schneider Electric we have integrated innovative digital solutions and simplified the operation to the maximum, so that all functions can be accessed intuitively and with just a simple touch,” explains Mihai Georgescu, Chief Engineer, technical department of ATHÉNÉE PALACE HILTON BUCHAREST. ”With the BMS currently installed in our hotel, we have increased both the level of comfort and the safety of customers. Guests are welcomed to their new rooms with a pre-conditioned air system, set at an appropriate comfort level. Cleanliness and “privacy” requirements can be managed very easily by using the thermostat module of the air conditioning. The panic button and the flood sensor, once activated, immediately alert the hotel Security department, which can set up an emergency intervention in support of customers. Technicians also monitor BMS data from the guest rooms, thus being able to ensure preventive interventions, so as to meet the customer needs even before he or she notices something. The display outside the room provides information even when the cleaning department is near the room and can intervene in a timely manner.”
