Simona Halep won an incredible match against Elina Svitolina after an amazing performance of what she called “the best game in 2019”. Halep moves to the final at Qatar Total Open where she will fight against the winner between Angelique Kerber and Elise Mertens.

The first set of the match was an easy win for Simona, 6-3, and it looked like another smooth performance to the end. But Svitolina was not done yet and she pulled another gear in the second set, won 6-3. But her performance was getting better and better and the third set started in the same situation, pulling to a 4-1 against Halep.

Everything looked done for the game, with an impressive Svitolina returning every ball that Halep threw to her. But Simona managed to save 3 points to stop Svitolina go to 5-1 and won the 8 minute-long game.

It was the turning point of the match. Svitolina didn’t win another game until the end and the 5-games winning streak secured Halep the win. An amazing comeback for the No. 2 of the world that showed the incredible mental strength that Simona Halep has now.

In the final game, set for Saturday at 17:00, Halep will meet the winner between Angelique Kerber and Elise Mertens. For Simona is the 34 final in her career. She won the Doha tournament in 2014.Read more aboutAdrian Apostu (Dino Parc Râșnov): 2 million visitors represent a milestone that makes us both happy and responsible read more
