Romanian state-owned company Romfilatelia issues a postage stamp named “Simona Halep, Romanian Tennis Ambassador” to honor the performance of the tennis player and, in particular, the Wimbledon title won on July 13, 2019.

One stamp has the image of Simona Halep raising the Wimbledon 2019 trophy, while another stamp presents the signature in gold leaf of Simona Halep and illustrates her presenting the trophy to the public. A game image is played in the non-dotted collapsed stamp.

“Simona Halep, Romanian Tennis Ambassador” postage stamp will be available Friday at Romfilatelia stores in Bucharest, Bacău, Braşov, Cluj-Napoca, Iaşi and Timişoara and through online store.

This issue is completed by two “first day” envelopes.

Simona Halep won this year the first Wimbledon title in her professional career after winning 6-2, 6-2 in front of former world number one Serena Williams. After three Grand Slam finals – two at Roland Garros (2014 and 2017) and one at the Australian Open (2018), Simona Halep won the first Grand Slam tournament at Roland Garros (June 9, 2018).
